For nearly 40 years I have used photography to explore the world I live in. The threads that connect my images tend to be the beauty, color, light, humor and irony of the natural and man manmade world. Whether photographing the landscape, an urban environment, or architecture, these common bonds make me pick up my camera.
There are some things in the world that are best described, or can only be described, by a photographic image. I am happiest when I am able to create such images in a way that truly reflect my vision.
My photographs can be found in the collections of The Bibliothèque Nationale, Paris, France; The Getty Museum Library, Malibu, California; The Sioux Falls Civic Fine Arts Center, South Dakota; The Dahl Art Center, Rapid City, South Dakota; and the San Francisco Art Institute.
A San Francisco, California native I received my BFA and MFA in photography from The San Francisco Art Institute. I have been teaching photography for the past 20 years at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD. I currently live in Rapid City, SD with my wife Nancy and son Stephen.
I have provided my CV here for the convenience of interested parties. Thank you.
